Data entry is the work that no one claims but that takes up a surprising amount of hours. Invoices, bubbles, orders, forms: someone opens the document, reads, and copies the same numbers into another system. Each step is an opportunity for error, and transcription errors are the most expensive to discover because they emerge weeks later.
With automatic extraction the document is read only once: the fields are recognized, normalized and checked. The difference from a traditional OCR is that the system understands the context —it knows how to distinguish a taxable person from a total even if the supplier changes the layout of the invoice —and above all it signals what it is not sure of instead of inserting it silently.
Extracts data from PDF / email / file, cleans them, compiles the table, reports anomalies, exports and updates the system. The copy-paste disappears.

Does it also work with badly scanned documents?
In most cases, yes, but the quality of the scan does matter. On very damaged documents the system still extracts what it succeeds and marks the rest as to be verified: better a signaled field than a wrong data inserted in silence.
How accurate is that?
It depends on the type of document and their variability. This is why the flow always involves anomaly reporting: the goal is not 100% blind automation, it is to take 90% of manual work away while maintaining control over the rest.
Do I need to change my business management software?
No. The system adapts to the import format your business management software already accepts.
