What is a Tailored Business App

An iPhone and Android app built around a company's processes and used by employees, sales agents or customers. It reads and writes data in existing systems, such as business management software, CRM and ERP, rather than becoming another database to synchronise by hand. Giallo Studio develops it from one codebase for iOS, Android and the web.

Who Uses It
Field technicians, sales networks, customers, each with their own access and permissions.
What it connects with
Business management software, CRM, ERP, spreadsheets and email: through APIs, or scheduled exchanges where APIs are unavailable.
How to install
From public stores, in private distribution to employees only, or as a PWA from a link.
Who is it?
Code, store accounts and data remain with the company. We develop it and, if you like, maintain it.

Who Uses It

Apps for employees, agents and customers: three different jobs, the same base.

A business app is designed around the person using it. A technician has gloves on and two minutes between jobs; a sales agent works in a warehouse without a signal; a customer wants to book at eleven at night without making a call. Each needs a different experience.

Technicians and employees in the field

The report is compiled on the spot, with photos of the intervention and the customer's signature on the screen. The check-list does not let a skipped check pass. The van is unloaded by reading the barcode with the camera, and in the office no one has to decipher a sheet written by hand on Friday night.

  • Orders and requests for material
  • Photo reports and signature
  • Safety and maintenance check-list
  • Warehouse with camera as reader

Sales Networks

The sales agent opens a catalogue with current prices, discounts and stock levels, even in a warehouse without a mobile signal. They take the order; the app queues it and sends it to the business management software when the connection returns. No more phone-dictated orders or photos of handwritten notes.

  • Catalogue and price lists available offline
  • Queue orders, sent alone
  • Customer history before the visit
  • Discounts within the thresholds decided by the company

Customers

The customer area brings orders, documents and invoices together. Customers book through the app and receive an appointment reminder. Their loyalty card lives on their phone, and promotions reach people who have already bought.

  • Reserved area with orders, documents and invoices
  • Reservations with reminders
  • Loyalty card and rewards
  • Notifications on orders and promotions

Integrations

A custom business app puts your business management system in your pocket.

Your business management system remains the source of truth for records, products, prices and invoices. The app reads and writes data there. We connect directly when APIs are available; otherwise, as is common with systems installed fifteen years ago, we use scheduled file exchanges or a small bridge service.

Only the data each user needs stays on their phone. The app synchronises when connected and handles conflicts, such as two people editing the same order. Every write is recorded: who changed what, and when.

If you also need an assistant to read emails and attachments and update your business management software, that is the role of AI agents. For AI features inside the app, see our page on artificial intelligence app.

Roles and permissions

Everyone sees his own, even when it's the same order.

Sales agents see their customers, but not margins. Managers see their territory and approve discounts above the threshold. The administration team sees payments and credit limits, without editing order lines. We define permissions with you, role by role, and enforce them on the server; hiding an app button is not enough.

Data and GDPR

GDPR and security are decided before the first line of code.

A staff app handles customer and employee data. Designing for that from the start is better than addressing it after the first phone is lost.

  • Just the data you need.

You collect what the process really uses, not what one day might serve.

  • Servers in Europe, encrypted data.

Encrypted connections, servers in the European Union as a basic choice, credentials closed in protected areas of the phone: Keychain on iPhone, Keystore on Android.

  • Accesses that close in one click.

Lost phone or colleague changing jobs: You disable the user from the panel and the app stops receiving and sending data.

  • Data Processing Agreement.

We sign the appointment as data processor with you (Art. 28 GDPR) and keep an access log.

  • Personal phone? You can.

The app accesses its own data, rather than personal photos, contacts or messages. Mobile device management (MDM) separates work and personal use on the same phone: work profile on Android, user registration on iPhone.

  • Location and remote controls.

If the app records employees' locations or activities, additional rules apply underArticle 4 of the Workers' Statute. We'll talk to your job advisor before developing, not after.

Distribution

On the stores, or only on the company's phones?

It depends on who needs to install it. The app stays the same; the route onto the phone changes.

Publish

App Store and Google Play, for customers

The way of apps for customers, who find it by looking for it. Go from the review of Apple and Google; on average, 90% of apps sent are reviewed in less than 24 hours (Apple). Must offer something more than the site: a packed site is rejected (guideline 4.2).

iOS App and App Store · Android and Google Play Apps

Private

Only on company devices

For internal apps. On iPhone, the Apple Business Custom Apps (called Apple Business Manager until April 2026): the app is available only to your organisation, outside the public App Store. On Android, Managed Google Play private apps. For simpler cases, there is also the distribution not listed from Apple: the app is accessible only through a direct link.

From a link

PWA, without going through stores

If the staff works mainly from browsers and do not need phone functions, a PWA installs from a link, updates itself and does not wait for revisions. Pros and limits are on the page on the PWA Development.

App, web app or PWA

Apps for SMEs, web apps or PWAs: what your staff really need.

The right question is not what technology, but where the user works. Dashboards and desk CRMs are the work of custom software; this page is about what's in your pocket.

With a single code base, you don't choose forever. Athleex combines a business management web app, App Store and Google Play apps, and a PWA: how we built it.

Business App Development: Ownership and Maintenance

The code is yours.

Even the day you stop working with us.

Who is it?

The code sits in a repository owned by your company. Your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts are in your name, with us added as collaborators; the same applies to domains, servers and keys. We use TypeScript and established tools (Next.js, React, Capacitor), so another team can read the code and continue the work. You can move the project elsewhere.

Who Keeps It

Maintenance is not optional: Apple and Google change requirements each year. Two examples from 2026: From April 28, apps uploaded to the App Store Connect must be filled in with Xcode 26 (Apple), since August 31, apps on Google Play must point to Android 16, API 36 (Google). We can take care of it with a maintenance contract, or leave your team documentation and handover.

We know what the reviewers are looking at because we've been through it.

Athleex, the platform we built for personal trainers, combines a business management web app, App Store and Google Play apps, and a PWA in six languages, from one codebase. It went through Apple's full review process, including rejections: in-app purchases (3.1.1), subscription terms (3.1.2) and demo accounts for reviewers (2.1).

Frequently asked questions

Business apps, no pun intended.

For market prices and their sources, see our page on how much it costs to develop an app.

Yes, that is where the project starts. We connect directly when the system provides APIs; otherwise, we use scheduled file exchanges or a small bridge service. Your business management software remains the source of truth: the app reads and writes data there, without parallel databases.

Roles and permissions are decided with you prior to development and checked on the server. Only the necessary data, servers in the European Union such as basic choice, encrypted connections, agreement on data processing (Article 28 GDPR) and access register. Whoever leaves the company deactivates from the panel.

Apps for customers go to public stores. Internal apps are distributed privately: on iPhone with custom Apple Business apps (until April 2026 Apple Business Manager), on Android with managed private Google Play apps. If no phone features are needed, a PWA that can be installed from a link may suffice.

Depends on where he works. Those who are around, without a network and with the camera, need an app; those who are at the desk, a web app. In between is the PWA. With a single code base you start from one and add the others.

Yeah. The app only sees its data and permissions that the person grants, such as camera or location: not photos, contacts or messages. With a device management system (MDM), work and private life remain separate. If the app records location or activity, Article 4 of the Workers' Statute should also be assessed.

Apple and Google account and code are registered to your company. Maintenance is done by us, with updates to the new Apple and Google requirements, or we pass it on to your team: TypeScript, popular tools, documentation.

It depends on users, integrations and offline operation. Market segments are on the page about how much it costs to develop an app; we give a fixed price quote after the 30-minute free audit.
